My passion for upholstery came when our family moved house in London in 2007. I had two small children and I wanted to decorate their bedrooms to make them a place of calm but yet inviting. I couldn't find what I wanted on the high street so I decided to create my own headboards in beautfiul fabrics to complement their blinds and newly painted walls. That was the start.
A few years ago I decided I would like to be professionally trained in upholstery. I signed up for the AMUSF diploma (Association of Master Upholsters and Soft Furnishers) at the British School of Upholstery in Nettlebed, Henley on Thames. Since finishing that I have done intensive courses at the school concentrating specifically on headboards and footstools.
I have degree in Fine Art and spent my early career working for Christie's Auctioneers and then for De Beers, the highly creative diamond industry. I have always been passionate about colour and fabric and especially transforming a piece of fabric into a piece of furniture which can instantly change a room, becoming its centrepiece and bringing new life to it.
